Default Anyone have this problem?

I installed a amp, cap and two subs. 4 gauge wire and grounded everything very well. I don't get any enginge noise, but when the bass hits hard every single light dims. Any Ideas? New battery or alt??? Any feedback will help thanks!

What kind of Amp/Watts are you using to drive your subs?

Default you should use real caps as opposed to fraud caps.

Default did you initially charge your cap correctly (with the little resistor)? how far is your cap

from your amp? or, it could just be a weak battery- how old is it?

I'd buy a new Farad Cap or even two. Your risking the life of the altenator with that much wattage.

Default a battery was more useful than my cap ever was.

Id check the wireing again. I was running a bit more power than you, the lights did dim but it wasnt that bad. That was before the Cap. I swear it was worse after the cap, but after i popped in a dry cell it all went away.

Default i was running 2 PC1200 wired together

others are also running the optima batteries. How much is the lights dimming anyways? A slight dim or a pretty good one. Id try taking out the Cap first and see what happens.

http://www.odysseybatteries.com/auto.htm#bcigroup</a

Default yea thats what i had too..the cap didnt do **** to help that

Nor did i expect the cap to help with that problem. Cap is there to make sure the amp gets all the power it needs. But the battery worked real good. Before with out the battery with a bass heavy song voltage will drop to 11-12 volts cuz its tryingto charge the cap and the amp. After the battery was put in no matter how bass heavy it was voltage never dropped.
