Because there is NO logic that a 10 has better sound quality than a 12 or 15.

Mitek Re-Q5 - constantly variable line level converter with 3 way summing capability

Varad SL210WH - super bright LED system. I'm only using a couple white ones to light up the install when the false floor is raised up.

Oh ok. You're using the OEM HU.

I'm heavily considering a single 15' for my system - mainly for SQ purposes...

Default I think a 15" sub is beyond the point of dimishing returns in an SQ car.

Unless you're looking for all out SPL, I don't think there is enough benefit to running a 15" over a 12". Given the amount of space you will have to give up to run that 15" (unless your planning to do an IB install), I would go max 12" for SQ. There's more than enough low end from a 12" once you consider cabin gain.

Default Yeah, I usually use a single 12" with very good results but I was just thinking to go a bit larger.

Thought about an IB design too but right now, I'm thinking a good quality single 15" in a sealed enclosure will do nicely. Plenty of surface area to move lots of air through the small openings in the rear deck (plan on removing rear speakers altogether). With a solid enclosure and a clean amp, I'm pretty sure the SQ will be excellent. If the material I'm listening to has a lot of low end in it that is pretty much inaudible, I like to feel it. In fact, I'd say, if you don't feel it, your SQ is not up to par. I've definitely achieved this w/ a single 12" before, but with 10's it just never seems to be right. So, in my opinion 10" is not good for SQ. It's doable but why try to fight physics?

Default It can be done with a 10". You need mo powah!

I try to fight physics because I cherish my trunk space

A 10" and 1500W works for me. A 12" would be good too but it took up too much space for my install.

Default LOL, yeah. Always a juggling act between pros and cons...Don't think I want to go the megawatt route

Trying to keep the whole system at around 1000W RMS. I may end up w/ a 12" again (still have an old Fosgate Pro series from wayyy back that I could use)...Oh, wait, that was underpowered at around 300W RMS so scratch that idea...
