Default quick fuse question....

im planning on doing a carputer install to replace my head unit. The PSU i have is a dc-dc converter that takes 18 amps input with an inrush up to 30 amps. i also am hooking up a line driver and (maybe) a 6 ch passive eq. My question is this:

instead of running power from the distribution block, since im not using the radio power anymore, can i use this as a power soource. It is fused at the fusebox, but that fuse may be too small.

So my real question is, can i up the amperage on the fusebox fuse if it is too low, or is this dangerous (ie, too many amp fuse = fire)?

Any ideas?

i think i would put a 35 amp fuse back there, because the line driver shouldnt take more than 2 amps and the eq would be 3 at most....

TIA
