Default Replacing a 99.5 A4 Bose headunit

My CD changer recently died and looking at the cost of a even a used OEM unit I realized that I could buy a nice MP3/CD headunit. The problem is, I don't have the $$$ available to change out all of the speakers and add an aftermarket amp. I've been looking for an adapter that would feed a signal to the Bose amp, thereby allowing me to keep the stock speakers for the time being.

I found this one:
Autotoy s Audi w/Bose wiring harness
Does anyone know if it will allow me to do what I want?

Default You're telling me that with this adapter, I can install an aftermarket headunit (edit)

and still keep/utilize the stock Bose amplifier so that I don't have to replace all of the speakers? If so, I can't thank you enough. I can buy this adapter and an Alpine headunit for less than some of the CD changer packages I was looking at.

The Autoleads vehicle installation database lists PC9-408 as the correct harness adapter for the A4 w/Bose, the PC9-404 it says is for the TT without Bose. (edit) All the the headunits I have in mind have RCA outputs, and it looks like the PC9-408 is speaker level only, so I think I need the PC9-410 (/edit)

I checked out your picture poster and I noticed your install and it looks like you used one of these adapters. I've done stereo stuff in other cars, is there anything Audi specific I need to be aware of?

Default Sorry forgot you had Bose

As long as you have the right RCA to mini-ISO adapter (not the speaker level one) for Bose, and the fascia adapters that's all you need. You will probably have to swap over the perm live and the ignition on as Audi have them round the wrong way (of course). You'll also need the antenna amplifier (as the Concert has an antenna amp built in) shown below (don't know where you get these outside the UK). You will lose the DIS display which will just be black as if the radio is switched off, so no biggy.
