Default Speaker level inputs

Just did a search to see if anyone has ever tested the speaker level voltage from the Symphony stereo, and didn't find anything.

So, anyone out there with a multimeter want to help out?

My thought, of course, is that I'd like to install an amp, speakers, and sub, and would like to use speaker level input to the amp (PPIs and RFs at least seem to be set up for this). This would seem to make the install much, much easier, and would probably decrease the likelihood of alternator whine that I see many of you discussing.

Any other facts that I'm missing that make this a bad idea?
