Default Spotify and Waze Bluetooth Issues on Q5

Hi all, I purchased a CPO Q5 about 3 weeks back. In the dealership, they were able to connect my phone in order to make both Waze and Spotify play over the speakers. After a couple weeks, it stopped working. Things I've tried: restarting the phone, resetting the Audi interface, re-installing Spotify, adding Audi Connect app, and basically any of the other standard fixes. The Audi does not recognize the phone, and the phone also cannot find the Audi via Spotify, but does via bluetooth. The odd thing is if I am on a call, Spotify will connect and play over the speakers along with the call. Anyone else had the same issue and know of a fix apart from taking it back to the dealership? Thanks.

What year is your Q5 and does it have navigation? There are different generations of MMI, so you need to specify these details for somebody to help you. I'm specifically asking about the nav, because I'm currently in an 2018 A5 SB. It's a base model and doesn't have navigation. The Bluetooth Audio is totally buggy on models w/o navigation. The audio streaming works for a while and then just stops after a few restarts of the car. Yesterday, I was trying to use Google Maps and have the instructions play over the car's speakers and nothing was happening. Had to end up disabling the Bluetooth Media Player in the MMI and listen to the instructions over the phone's speakers. It looks like they have some issues to fix.

It’s a 2015 and does not have navigation. Sounds like we’re having the same problems then. I personally don’t like Bluetooth at all, since there always seem to be issues, but there also is no audio jack so no way to directly plug the phone into the car either.

Different issue. A 2015 Q5 w/o navigation doesn't even have Bluetooth Audio streaming. You only have Bluetooth hands-free. Not sure how the dealer got this working w/o third-party hardware.

Have you guys tried plugging the phone into the AUX jack (assuming you have one)?
