With the MB Quart adapters up front, did anyone have to modify anything else to fit the Focals up front? I'm looking to get a set of Focals and want a clean install. If they're not going to fit in the doors cleanly..maybe i should reconsider my speaker choice. any opinions? TIA

I have the bora 130ks in front and bora 165ks in rear , 100% ok. with adapters.

I've heard that at a certain point, they started putting a brace in the door that requires modification...

Will they fit on a 2001? or will i have to start hacking away?

I have a 3 week old 2001.5 A4 and the following components:

Focal 130K (for the fronts)
Focal 165HC (for the rear deck)
Precision Power Amp PCX-440
MB Quart front and rear adapters.

None of the components are installed, and I expect to get the adapters this week. I was supposed to get them last week, but there were shipping delays due to the events of Sept 11th.
This coming weekend, I'll see how easy or hard it is to install those speakers.

My understanding is that in the pre 2000 model, it was simply plug and play. In the newer models, there is a little bit of modding to be done. But I understand that it's not too bad... I hope not because I really don't want to mess up my baby's door!
