Can you help me put a shopping list together? New in the detailing science...
First off, I appologize if this question has been asked before. I tried to STFA, but could not find what I was looking for.
I was recently introduced to the art of the car detailing and I would like to purchase the basic things needed to be able to detail my cars. I am not looking for high-tech products (like a $300 wax), because I am on a budget, but I still want to have good quality products. I currently don't have anything in my inventory, so I need to buy everything from the basics (sponges, towels) all the way to the rotary. Can you help me build my shopping list? Also, where is the cheapest place to buy everything from? I know that DD is offerig 10% discount for members which is awesome
Here is how my shopping list looks so far, but I am not sure if it is any good ( I am very confused about the different polishes and sealants, so I just picked one of each w/o getting into details.)

Good list...
I would switch up one or two things...
6" pads and 6" backing plate instead of 4" because smaller pads will take a lot longer to finish the vehicle.
Add a bottle of Menzerna Intensive Polish. The PO85RD is a finishing polish and will take a considerable amount of time to correct any imperfections on your paint. The IP will take a more aggressive approach to correcting your paint.

Good start...Couple of suggestions...
Don't what your car situation is...if it is need of some paint repair (not just polishing), you may have to also get some more intensive polish...
I like the Menzerna line, but hear the 1Z is very good also...
Get some 6 1/2" pads as well as the 4"...I use the 6 1/2" for all major panels and the 4" for the bumpers, curves, tight areas...get the backing plate as well...This will cut your time...Match the color pad with the purpose/amount of cut and product used...Phil can help you...
Some accessories you may find helpful...spray bottles for water and 50/50 IPA and water...hand foam or MF applicator pads (if you are going to apply final wax by hand and to use for tight places...wash mitt
Get some good car wash...I like the Adams...(so your washes will be kind to your wax..
Bumper/black dressing if you have faded black bumpers...get tire gel also...I like the One grand ERV for a realistic shine...
Hope this helps....

sounds good, i would get 5 or 6 " pads, more MF, maybe the 1Z polish/wax line and some more QD.
QD is great help with polishing and cleaning. you can use it when you dry, wet your pads with it, use it to lube clay, clean out crvices and tight spots, use it on rims, etc. i like the OTC Meguires QD. Pep-boys sells 32oz for ~$8.
i would also add some MF cleaner. it's good for your towels and pads.
good luck

Thank you for all the input guys! I will send an e-mail to Phill to see what he would suggest
I knon that I am missing a few things, but my goal was to keep the amount below $300 for everything, and I can see that this is streching it...

You will love the Glanz wax, I do. If ur budget can handle it maybe get the Flex instead of PC
if you are going to need to decent paint correction. From what I have read on here the Flex is much better and still a random orbital.
