Coastal Tool rocks! Ordered my P-C 7424 on Wed afternoon, it arrived today (Fri.)! Question...
2-day delivery? Wow. I paid the "standard" shipping rate too. Unfortunately my pads from properautocare aren't due to arrive until Monday, according to UPS tracking. So.....I know those pads are better than the white foam polishing pad that comes with the P-C, but is that white pad actually bad to use? Will it do any damage? I'm having a hard time accepting that I'm not gonna be able to try this thing until next weekend, all for lack of pads.
Must....have....patience...patience......

It's fine to use!
I've used the white pad supplied with my PC. Go ahead, use your new toy! :-)
BTW, Coastal Tool is probably 2.5 hours away from you...it's no wonder it showed up in less than 48 hours! They are in Hartford CT.

Rick, the worst thing about the supplied pad is that it's flat. It will spin stuff off in a real...
mess compared to the concave pads you're getting from Classic. I tried it once and promptly tossed it out. Did you order the new orange pads, btw?

No, I ordered grey and white. I don't think I need the cutting power of the orange.
I guess I won't really know what you're talking about re flat vs. concave until I see what properautocare is sending me. I've never done this before. I got the hook/loop backing pad as part of the 7424 package from Coastal Tool, so I didn't bother buying one from properautocare. Now I'm wondering if the "concave" pads need a different kind of backing pad? The one I have looks perfectly flat to me.......

You need to be *careful*!
I put a little IMG on the pad, put the pad on the paint, and move it around on the paint *by hand*. Eventually, the IMG ends up absorbed by the pad (fairly quickly). Leaving the pad against the paint, I then turn on the PC (per their instructions). When I turn it off, I wait for it to stop moving, before I take the pad off the paint.
I've never splattered the IMG doing this. The only time I splattered is when the pad wasn't quite on the paint, and I forgot to rub the paint around on the paint a bit, to work the IMG into the pad. I turned the machine on, and made a royal mess! Woulda happened with a concave pad too...it was plain stupidity! :-(

Thanks Raj.
I ended up not using the new toy this past weekend after all; decided to wait for the pads from properautocare. So NEXT weekend should be it, weather permitting.

Actually, it probably wouldn't have happened with the concave pad.....
I'm not so careful as you I guess, cause I just squirt and go (so to speak). I've never had any spin off using the concave pads.
