Cutting/Polish Compound Recommendations
I am a DIY sort of person when it comes to my detailing but have hit a bit of a road block. I have a Flex 3401 and have previously used Meguiar's Correcting Compound, followed by Menzerna 4000, then a Chemical Guys Glaze before the final wax/sealant.
This time I would like to use a Ceramic after getting PPF. I began my normal process, but I cannot get the fine scratches/swirls out of the clear on my 2019 Glacier white metallic. I suspect I need new products so I I don't pull out whats left of my hair.
What are the best cutting/polishing combinations that everyone is using on the Audi clear to get things close to perfection before a Ceramic or PPF? The paint looks nice until you start looking closely, then it starts laughing at me for all of the non-work I have put into the finish.
Thanks

I've used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish for years with great results. There are many products out there, but I like & recommend these a lot because they're broadly available, inexpensive, easy to use and remove. Virtually foolproof. Apply with a DA polisher for outstanding results.

I use Chemical Guys V36, and 38 compound as well. I do find you need a DA polisher for best results. I find CG V polish does gum up my polishing pads, bit annoying. Looking for another polishing compound to try. I hear Adams make great stuff might give that a try.

Today my new to me 18 SQ5 is getting Xpel PPF on the full front end and decided last weekend do do my own paint correction. SQ5 was in good condition paint wise when I purchased 6 weeks ago but doing a light cut and polish was well worth the effort.
I've been doing my own detailing for 40+ years and this is the first time doing it the "paint correction" way. I used tools and materials I have that include a Porter Cable Dual Action Orbital, Lake Country CCS 6" foam pads (orange, white, blue) and Meguairs Fine-Cut Cleaner and Foam Pad Polish from a local auto detailer supplier I get stuff from.
I was blown away by the deep shine I was able to achieve on this Navarra Blue SQ5 with a lot less work that it was years ago with high speed polisher and the dusty compounds we used back then.
It's time to get some new supplies, anyone have experience with the Menzerna products ? Thinking of stocking up with this 3 pack https://detailingconnect.com/product...12472640766069 maybe a little pricey but way less expensive than having paint correction done at a shop
We have a 2011 VW Touareg that I would like to do a paint correction on next and then follow up with a ceramic coating like mentioned above, paint is in good condition but looking to do a little heavier cut and read a couple good reviews on the Menzerna 400 before polishing.

Depends on the technique of how you are applying it, I use car waxes from XYZ and they work just fine without extra shenanigans! They have kits and stuff so you don't need to go to the detailer every few months or so..

Even with traditional wax products you need to have the paint clean for best results, reason I don't use traditional wax anymore is the protection is short compared to the sealants out know and the hybrid ceramic products like Meguair's.

I'm a Flex guy too (have the VRG and rotary) and am a big fan of the Shine Supply compounds for correcting hard Euro paints. Combined with Lake Country pads it's a pretty formidable combination.
