i was looking at the peel and stick stuff but thats really dumb looking at it would ruin my nice interior. i am looking for wood trim strips that will fit where the factory grey stips fit in. should i just go to the dealer and buy the trim stips and get them to install it? or do u guys have any other ideas

Default That's typically what the audi folks do...

If you want the wood trim, you can either opt for the cheezy stick on stuff (not many do), or you can buy the piece, and take apart your interior to bolt them in place. Typically the fasteners are behind the wood panels, so for example, you would have to remove the interior door panel, and get at the fastener's from behind to swap the pieces.

Default post on bimmer.org 5-series forum to see if anyone is getting rid of theirs..

or be patient and wait for a set to come up on ebay / try broadening your search

otherwise it will cost you around 1k from the dealer

if all else fails you can get a set from a wrecked car.. just go to a junkyard or look online at sites like car-part.com , etc.
