Default Recommendations for glass cleaner / treatment

What do you guys recommend for cleaner?

Other than ceramic which is not in the cards due to cost / time, what is a good treatment. Surely there is something better than Rain-X.

No need to go ceramic if the price is not in your ballpark.

For long term protection, you'd look at something like Aquapel.

I have been very happy with Nanolex Glass Cleaner and Nanolex Ultra Glass sealer.

Invisible Glass cleaner works great, inside & out. It's also inexpensive; Walmart stocks it. My cousins have an glass shop (auto & commercial); this is what they use (or just about anything without ammonia). Equally as important, if not more so, is to use a good quality microfiber towel.

As for treatment, used RainX years ago...wasn't worth it and caused a glare at night. Don't see a real reason to do so. BUT have been using Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer after washing (seems to help keep clean longer, and leaves smooth finish), including windows and, even after using Invisible Glass afterwards, noticed that rain beads right off the windshield.

Noticed this just by chance (had no intention of using it as a RainX substitute): was driving to work and didn't bother to used the windshield wipers. Laughed all the way to work. Simple pleasures are the best!
