If your paint is smooth, you don't need to clay. I don't ever clay. As for polishing...
it will help the shine no matter what color your car is. As for Prep, glaze is the first thing you use, and it's fine as a prep as it removes all traces of wax.

They do different things.
A glaze is not a cleaner, but a polish is. A polish typically will not contain fillers, which a glaze has. So polish to clean, remove surface imperfections and remove/reduce scratches, then glaze to fill superficial scratches and add gloss. Then wax.
