Default swirl marks from PC 7424, what went wrong?

I just used my new PC 7424 for the first time this past weekend with foam pads, yellow and white from Classic Motoring. I am using the leveling compound and polish from Race Glaze.
Anyway, I develiped some nice swirl marks while using the leveling compound and the yellow pad on a few areas. I was using it on speed 2-3, could this have been the problem?
The leveling compound is supposed to remove marks, I am assuming it is the pad that has contributed to this completely.
Any ideas?

Default Leveling compound is awfully aggressive...

Have you tried going over the area with a more mild polish?

I polished/waxed it after and it didnt help.
I am now wondering if it was something in the white polishing pad.

What were you using to buff off the polish?

Default I would bet money it's the leveling compound...

The pads and machine are truly idiot-proof. The only part of your process I'm unfamiliar with is the Race Glaze products. I agree with John...you need to find a finer polish to remove the marks left by the leveling compound.

I use both a polishing cloth by hand and the microfiber bonnet, but the marks were there before the bonnet was used.
Race glaze has only leveling compound, then their polish and the marks were there after both.
At this point, I think there must be some fine contaminant in my pad because I cant find any other reason. It was intermittent and random and worse in some areas than others.

What is the recommended speed number for the yellow pads?

Default actually, you *can* leave swirl marks even with menzerna ...

if you don't lubricate the surface properly. i've done it while experimenting.

Default did you say clay bar, my arms are still numb......

It took me 5 hours to do my car. Being white and never attended to before I purchased it, the oxidations spots were a living nightmare.
I am using the white and yellow foam pads from Classic Motoring.
