Default Front brake cooling ducts assembly update...

Well most of the components are in place all we have to wait for is the curing of the bonding agents. If we have enough time this week it will go on if not next week prior to my two day track event.

In this segment I'll concentrate on the NACA ducts installation.

First we carefully aligned the NACA duct with the under tray to see where it would line up on the inside to see if it would clear the sway bar and under components. We then cut out the under tray in small increments to make sure it would fit properly.

After the cut out were done and we were satisfied the NACA duct was in the right position we marked it for the next step.

The bonding agent is a special glue that is made to work with composite materials.

The NACA duct as seen from the inside. Once properly aligned we secured it in place and applied the bonding agent.

Another view prior to the application of the glue.

Here it is with the bonding agent applied. It will take 24 hrs for it to cure to a 50% strength, so no handling until then. The screws you see are only there to help the bonding of the two parts by squeezing them together and making sure they don't move.
