Here's a video clip from the BMW/Audi event from this past Monday and Tuesday...
I called it the <b>"The Chase Part I"</b>. <b>"The Chase Part II"</b> will be coming soon after. I could not upload more than 10 minutes at a time on photobucket.
Let me set it up for you...
I was the first one out onto the track. At the end of the warm up lap I let a race prepped S/C Miata go by and slow down to let my two buddies catch up and pass me as will a new Mini.
The plan was for me to follow my friends and observe each other lines. Since I was the one with the camera I was to be the tail ender. Of course when I had enough of being last I was simply to push a little harder and make them feel my presence and was ready to pass.
One of my friends is driving a very well prepared 1987 BMW E30 and the other a BMW M Coupe.
You will see that because this is a driving school and although we are running in the advance group with a few solos, the majority of the cars have instructors on board with students that should be in the intermediate run group. There were simply too many of them to run in their group so they bumped them up in our run group. You will notice it is very hard to pass some of them because they simply are not aware of the faster coming traffic until we have already slowed down. To pass you need a signal from the car ahead of you, no point by, no passing, period! A lot of momentum and time is lost. You will see and hear that I back off a lot at times. So be it we have to play by the rules to keep it safe.
Let the fun begin...<ul><li><a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b79/mlab601/?action=view&current=TheChasePartI-Default_8.flv">http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b79/mlab601/?action=view&current=TheChasePartI-Default_8.flv</a</li></ul>

Thanks the car rocks! Yeah that is Wendy. Alan drove in the instructor's group. Next time I think...
I'll opt for that run group, less people and much faster drivers.
