Need Help From Ottawa Peeps.
Need suggestions for a place to take lady for valentines. She keeps telling me there is nothing in Ottawa good enough, I'm in Montreal btw.
Requirements/features:
1. Nice enough for her to wear a long/gown-type dress.
2. Nice looking place, preferably with fireplace.
3. Romantic/Cozy.
4. Violin player maybe.....
5. A place where everyone will be dressed up, went to the NAC once and some people were in jeans, wtf!
6. Not going to break the bank, maybe like $150-$300 for dinner.
7. Quiet enough to talk.
That's all for now, any help appreciated. Thanks guys.

Re: Need Help From Ottawa Peeps.
You might want to try the following:
Cafe Henri Burger (in Hull).
or Hy's Steakhouse
I'm not sure about the violins, but should meet all your other criteria.

Got lots of ideas for you...
For all the recommendations below, make sure you make reservations VERY early (like now).
Signatures. One of the two five star restaurants in Ottawa. Truly an exceptional experience. It's a beautiful French restaurant with entrees and main courses you would eat at restaurants on the Champs Elysees in Paris. Pricey, but worth it, once a year. Dinner and wine for two: ~$250.
Merlot at the top of the Mariott hotel. It's a rotating restaurant at the top of the hotel. Incredible view at night. The food is also very good. It's pretty quiet so you don't have to talk over other people's conversations or the music. Dinner and wine for two: ~$200.
Wilfred's at the Chateau Laurier Hotel. Another great restaurant. Not as pricey as Signatures, but quality food. After dinner, you can go to the Chateau Laurier's lounge, called Zoe's. They have a live Jazz singer every Thursday and Friday night. Dinner and wine for two: ~$200
Fiorentina in Hull (two minutes from downtown Ottawa) - It's set in a large house... EXCELLENT Italian and French food. They occasionally have a violin and a spanish guitar player. I have yet to be in a more cozy and romantic restaurant. I know the owner, if you want to go there, email me. Dinner and wine for two: ~$120.
Mamma Teresa Ristorante. Awesome menu. This restaurant is also set in a large house. It's cozy, and the service is excellent. Dinner and wine for two: ~$120.
Ciccio's. Great food. Very romantic. If you decide to go here, ask to be served by Giovanni. He's an awesome 70 year old gentleman with a great sense of humour and tries to make every meal an experience to remember. Dinner and wine for two: ~$120.
My personal recommendations (in order):
1) Fiorentina
2) Merlot
3) Signatures
4) Ciccio
If you need contact information or directions for any of the above, let me know. Good luck.

Fiorentina for romantic... but I can't say that everyone will be dressed up.
I would expect everyone to be dressed up at Fiorentina, but I can't be 100% sure.
You can be sure that everyone will be dressed up at Merlot though.
