Default Oh crap, a flat and it's -1000c on the prairies

Not on a daily driver, she is parked for the winter in my attached garage but here is the lame part.. I am changing the tires in the spring to all new rubber.

I just noticed today, looks like it is pretty much completely empty, all other tires are fine....

Can I leave it if it's not moved at all? I really don't want to spend the $$ on a repair for a tire that will sit over the winter then go in the garbage. I don't have a spare that will fit. Can I damage my rim? should I just jack it up and put a stand or some blocks underneath to remove the load?

Suggestions? Thank you for your feedback.
B.

Using spare tire for winter not an option?

Default I don't have a spare at all. Aux tank and battery live in the spare tire well.

It's only a casual driver for me, so I have tow coverage on her... otherwise I would throw the spare on.

I have been told I am safe to leave it, pretty sure that's what I'll be doing...

Thanks =)

I wouldn't leave the rim sitting on the tire. I jack it up a bit to have a bit of space between

Will it hold air at all? My lazy solution would be to add a little air now and then

Default I would jack up that corner of the car and put it on blocks.

Tires do not like being deflated and deformed.

Default Thanks guys, I forgot I have a can of fix-a-flat also... might give that a try...

Going to put some air in and see what happens.. I am thinking the occasional top up it needed in the summer was a signal... now that it's cold, air is escaping from somewhere and fast, took less than 2 weeks to empty.. I took the wheel off and could not find any punctures or nails or anything obvious....

The tire is literally going to go to the garbage come spring time. New rubber on the way.

Default Ok, fix-a-flat idea is out, you have to drive around to get it to work properly...

Going to call around today and maybe just get it fixed.. if my mech will do it for cheap, I'll just have it taken care of.... if it's 'unfixable', then I'll just fill it, place the car where it needs to be in the garage and let her sit until spring.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions again. Never run into this before..

Yay it's -28c this am, -35c with the windchill!! No snow all November, than winter hits us with the 1-2 knockout punch in 1 day, ahha.

Default Fill with water... let water freeze.. once frozen, no leaks...

and water expands when frozen, so fill 1/2 full and let mother nature do the rest.

hahaha...

Just wait till december, we'll get a warm day, you can pull it off then. Or go buy some mittens and a big jacket.
