Pat Quinn is fired
TORONTO/AM 640 TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs are on the hunt for a new head coach after firing Pat Quinn this morning.
Assistant coach Rick Ley has also been shown the door.
The fallout comes just four days after the Leafs were officially eliminated from the NHL playoffs for the first time in Quinn's seven-year tenure with the team.
Despite the firing, Quinn will still collect on his 1.5 million dollars he's due on his contract next year from the Leafs.
There's no immediate word on a replacement.
