remove scratches on your clearcoat? I brushed the right front bumper agains a painted metal railing and it left a scratch, but it looks like it's just paint on paint. what should I use to get rid of it?

Start with clay bar and then you will be able to see what you are really up against.

Can't claybar can be a little dangerous to a "detailing beginner"?

Wash, clay bar, and then decide whether you need to use something as harsh as compound.

Default No. It's the least dangerous/abrassive/intimidating/etc.

I wouldn't even bother using a wax or polish unless it was clayed first to remove all of the crap off of the surface. It's the best product I've ever used.

Default Try a polishing compound first,

rubbing compound is too abrasive.

Default yes, if you dont use enough solution (soap/water), and don't use back/forth motions.

if you take your time and make sure to use a decent amount of solution, I just use soap/water, you should be alright. And it makes a HUGE difference on the paint.
