Engine Coolant level low
Hey guys,
I have an 04 1.8T Quatro and need some advice on a possible coolant leak.
I've noticed that my engine coolant level seems to be decreasing more and more. I'm about due for my oil change and wasn't sure if this would be normal but it is now almost half way in between the min line and the bottom. I have a water pump leak about 5 months ago and had it replaced and am worried this could be the same problem? I also have noticed a bad smell when my defrost is on or I am stopped at a light and have my windows open. I'm planning on taking her in in the next week or two for an oil change, but am wondering if this is something I need to care of sooner? I haven't noticed any puddles or stains from where I park.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Better to post this in the forum for your car.
I would say if it is your water pump the issue could cause your timing belt to break - so best to get it looked at early.
Have you pulled the belly pan to look underneath?
Could also be a leak in your heater core. There should be coolant in the cabin then.
