Keep getting logged out

Keep getting logged out
I haven't been back to this site in a few years. When I log in, I am recognized and get a welcome screen with my user id, but when i go to classifieds page, I get logged out, so i log in there and go to a specific thread, i get logged out. Occasionally it says i have an invalid login or password, but if I log in again, i am accepted - until I try to go to another page.
When I go to the classifieds section to post an ad, I get logged out and am asked to log in at the center of that page. That login does not work. It says invalid username or password, but if I log in up in the right corner, i am accepted, but when I try to continue with posting an ad, I get logged out again with that same page asking me to login.
I checked the LOgin Problems page and all it said was to delete my cookies - did that. No luck.
