Default Question for the message board programmers...

Say a company has a mailing list that people communicate on. Topics originate and are discussed via email. To keep track of this information is it possible to setup a messageboard style database on the web? It would need to be automated so every email sent through this mailing list is stored for people to read at a later date.

TIA

Default It absolutely is, but I'm not sure how this relates to AudiWorld

Or are you asking a general technical question?

You described a mailing list archive. There are plenty of them available for free

Default Which ones do you like, Johannes?

We (the AAC) use majordomo for our lists, and I'd really like to be able to offer a web-browsable and searchable archive of the list traffic on our server. Right now I'm using Yahoo! Groups to archive the list, which is okay, but I'd ultimately prefer to have it all in-house.

Any suggestions?

Default I've used majordomo and mailman

I prefer mailman since it has a web archive and web interface plus it's python, which is a bonus over perl

However, it doesn't provide a search engine.

Default One last question Johannes...

The list server program is Mercury Mail. The developer has no idea how to add this functionality to the program. Are there websites that deal with this aspect of development?

Thanks.
