These are issues that come up daily for me.

One is that certain characters such as $ are still corrupted upon editing a message.

The other is debatably a feature. I find that even when I try to override the redirect after posting, say by hitting 'stop' or by clicking 'go to your message', the redirect still overrides it much of the time. If you must have a redirect, is there a less brutal way to produce it? Perhaps a longer delay, at least? I find that it redirects even before the forum name gif loads, on my 48k dialup connections.

it allows one to continue proof reading, to click "edit", and to see the rest of the thread.

It also gets rid of another annoying quirk: the fact that one's own response to a thread brings it up to the top as unread tracked thread with one's own message in bold. This would cause an update.

The delay will be fixed in the rewrite of the software (temporarily put on hold to take care of other things first, like the classifieds).

I'll see if I can get the $ issue fixed soon. That's been there for too long.
