There was an indication if not outright assurance last year that the "new" AW forums would be virtually the same in appearance as the existing Kawf version. Seems that someone in AW admin was fed a line of bull.
Now the only thing that looks the same is the home page. Along that same line, AW looks like any other vB web site.
"Lead not Follow" is Audi's motto. Now AW has followed AZ etc. into the cesspool of sameness.
It's a shame. We lost something very unique, as well as a strong selling point to come over here. AW used to be a leader, now it's just one of the sheep.
There other motto is "Vorsprung durch Technik," Which tranlates to Advancement through Technology.

Being reluctant to try new things because of a comfort level with legacy technology is also not something any of us should be content to do.

Default Except for those who have a specific issue...I agree!

I think with a few days of navigating through the VBulletin sw most will enjoy its flexibility and ease of use.

Since you all probably own an Audi vehicle...their most recent marketing campaign has been 'Truth in Technology'...why can't the AW members embrace this change as just that?

We're experiencing some pivotal times in our US economy these days, and change was even the theme of the Obama campaign. I didn't vote for him, but I can still get behind the idea of change for the better.

Give it some time and stop whining about things you can't change.
End Rant.

AW Staff: Thanks for updating to a superior sw in most all manners...hang in there, people will come around and embrace your endeavors to improve the Audi enthusiast community.
Well said. There were some issues and it seems the staff is working hard to address them. The "Bush Sucks" mentality is getting old. Deal with it.

Try using the advanced search:

Sort by "Relevance" (in the bottom left hand corner of the screen )
Hope that helps.

Default Hold on there, Kris.

I have "reset" the various sections, including the threaded area, every stinkin' time I log in here, (which I now have to do EVERY time, unlike before),which can be aggravating. Why should we have to settle for less than we had. Look at the legions that have moved on, and take the hint as along the lines of "Houston, we have a problem." Slowly, the appearance appears to be improving. Assuming this was tested first, why make like more difficult for those who have been loyal and valued users over the years? Why have other well-knowns (Stoney comes to mind) asked for their articles and references to be deleted?
I have a belief, right or wrong, that eventually, the issues will be settled and improved with the hard work of yourself, and other mods and techies with the patience or low blood pressure to persevere. But who will be left?
The bump was a bad idea and needs to go. Sig pics as we older members knew them, need to be restored. They help identify the persnality of the user, a common ground if you will. I enjoyed watching yours and BD's rotators of my former home region. I haven't even seen him post here. He went elsewhere. Doesn't appear that you even still have that. All I see is a small pic of an R10.
Yesterday morning at 5:30, I asked for my email to be changed. That actually worked.
Yes, we were a cult here, with humor, camaraderie, TGIF posts, quibs at each other, etc. I hope that returns. For now, many of us are feeling quite displaced, and the attitude of Marvin and others at IB simply becuae they own this site certainly isn't helping. They need a class in public relations.
In spite of my rant Kris, I am really not angry at you. I'm uspet with what we seem to have lost. It's on defib and threatening to flatline for good. NOw I have to go to my day job.

Tom, you're a friend. I appreciate your comments. And I agree 100%. This was a complete disaster, and unfortunately I'm devoting too much time to trying to stop the bleeding to actually fix anything..[/QUOTE]

Change is inevitable. It would be nice to retain the flavor of the forum to the extent possible, but this forum needs to attract those that have been repelled by kawf as well as hang onto members who have posted here for years. Both groups will have to compromise.

The original roll out was unworkable, but the current version is close enough to kawf to keep me around.

Stoney asked for total deletion? Can someone confirm this? Does not sound like the Stoney I have seen here.

People will return. There are plenty of us posting on both forums.

Bump is configurable.
Sig pics should go, IMHO. The replacement of sig pics with a simple avatar makes the forum load more quickly and easier to read.

Yes, this place still has a ways to go. But improvements happen every day.

Poor choice of words but on the whole the guys who are happy about the changes seem to be the ones with low post counts. Sorry if I offended you.
