Most likely under Preferences that you have the check mark to show off-topic...

I currently see a variance of 234 threads in the Off-Topic Forum that are actually marked off-topic. The guy that posted the reply in your thread probably had the check box blank under preferences, so it showed fewer threads.

I guess there are very few threads in the OT forum that are actually marked OT
