'Heckflosse'
A quick search came up with the 'Fantail' nickname...and wiki says the 190D was from '62-'65.
I found a picture that shows the location of the various Body, Chassis, Engine, Paint, etc. ID plates...we're gonna look around during lunch today.
PS - Damn, my classic car bug is back! :P

Yup, it is...ie: Heckflosse. :) Thanks for the link...
Did some research yesterday and found the various ID tags on the car. Long story short, its a model offered from '61-'65 and has a serial number around 45k while there were 225k made. A rough estimate would put it at a late '61 to mid-'62.

Give this site a try...
I'm on that board, in the vintage section. I am also looking for a good shop in the area.
Have them post on the vintage section and ask about info/places that do good work in the DC area, there are some active members in Arlington/Alexandria that should give them all the info they need.

Saw that site (Calcio posted below), it's great so far. I'll pass the word, and your name, on. :)
A lot of the work he'll probably do himself (experienced home mechanic, like me). He's likely not going to go crazy restoring it...but rather keep it in decent, drivable shape while keeping it original as possible. Wish I had a garage to get myself a classic.
