A bit of help for a noob
Okay since it is butt cold my rear brakes are sticking becasue I had to park on a hill last night with the ebrake pulled tight. Now I cannot get my rear brakes to release? Any advice? I need to get to work I guess...
Thanks,
Caleb

You have a few options...
1- Look under the car and see where the e-brake cables attach to the rear brakes. Take a pair of pliers/hammer/etc. and push the brake cable back into the housing so the tension is taken off the pads. Make sure the e-brake lever is down, so the cable will want to move.
2- Drive around in forward and reverse a little to see if they unfreeze.
3- Pour hot water on rear brakes, hoping you hit the part that is frozen.
Enjoy.

In my experience, it's the cable that freezes...
...peek under the car and find the Bowden cable, tug on the cable sheathing and it may pop loose. BTDT twice in my coupe; e-brake handle is slack, rear brake dragging, crawl under car and wiggle cable...BOING!, pops loose again.
Good luck!

Re: You have a few options...
I did a little of all three actually. I poured hot water on both sides after which I used my trusty hammer to ping that ebrake clip and then drove it up and down the street a bit until viola!!
Thanks for the help guys. I hope to make it to RB one of these days. I am in Bethesda and I bought my 2002 1.8 a few weeks ago. Hope to meet/see you all around sooon!
