Default Convince me to keep my coupe...

I've been driving solely the A6 for the past 4 months as my coupe sits in the driveway and grows roots. I drive it around every few weeks to rotate the tires, but this a.m. I hopped in and the battery was D-E-D DEAD!

I hate to get rid of a car I like so much and have had so many aspirartions of transforming into a street-legal track car...but I've been the busiest I ever have been in my life lately and the upcoming 'Dark Ages' that are the fall and winter days (sun already set when I get out of work at 5) would postpone the project(s) even further.

The main problem is, I couldn't get much for the ol' girl and I just can't bring myself to part with a car I've grown to love so much over the past 5+ years. :/

So I'm putting her fate in AWs hands; What say you, do I:
A. Quit bitchin and sell it to some ricer.
B. Get off my ***/wallet and fix 'er up/keep it.
C. Give/sell cheap to my 'thug' brother who will prolly kill it.
D. Let it keep fertilizing the driveway until the tires rot off or my girlfriend leaves me because of it, whichever comes first.

Default B ... ;o)

Seriously though... might as well keep it. It's a decent platform to work with.

Default depends on what you would get for it

too lazy to look up pricing but if you aren't going to make a decent chunk of change then just keep it and go plan B.

Default Ask yourself these questions:

1) What things are you doing now that you're willing to stop doing so you'll have time to fix it up and track it?

2) What's it costing you now in insurance and registration to keep it sitting in your driveway?

3) How much can you sell it for? Multiply that by .05. That's the interest you'd earn on your money.

4) How much would you spend to fix and mod it the way you'd want?

Add numbers 2, 3, and 4. That's the money you'll keep if you sell it.

5) So is your love for this car worth the time and money?

Yeah, there's an emotional attachment. I have a 1988 Jeep that I bought new, and I just can't bear to give it up, even though it has become a driveway ornament.

So which wins, your heart or your mind?

Default I often regret selling my 1991 Audi 90Q, but at the same time, keeping it would have ...

... had its downsides too. When you have the time to build and run a track car, there will be lots of options available, and many will be easier and cheaper to work on than your Coupe.

So, sell it to me and be done with it!
