Ditch the B6 S4 avant for a B5 S4 avant?
I am seriously contemplating doing this. My car is paid off and CPO, so those are 2 reasons why I wouldn't.
Reasons for it are simple really, I like the styling of the B5 more so than the B6 and would love to wide body a B5 with RS4 fenders and the like. Silly no?
What say you AW? Ditch the B6 for a B5?

I heard horror stories, dropping the engine to swap them out and what not.
Is is that bad? I don't mind working on cars and I drive less than 10K a year so I am hoping that if I did do it the headache factor would be minimal.
Plus I got tony right around the corner!

I think experienced people can knock it out quickly. I was a n00b and didn't always have
all the parts and tools I needed when I needed them. I also managed to mangle a few along the way and it took a couple days/weeks for replacements.
Yes, you do have to drop the engine to get to the turbos. Yes, you turn into a neurotic mess every time you drive and hear a noise you haven't heard before.
I love the B5, but remember, the older the car, the more stuff breaks, wears, fails, fades, rattles, creaks, groans, and whatever else. That said, B5 >>>>>> B6
