I am really really really really PISSED....
I hit a pothole tonight and my airbag light came on and my car won't idle!
So I need to reset the airbag using a VAG (resetting the ECU and clearning the codes by shorting the proper ends in the fuse box didn't do it). Anyone have a VAG that can hook up to an ODB I? ... I think I have ODB I ...
As far as the idling goes I guess I'll be pulling all the vacum lines at some point.
I also noticed a pretty big oil leak at the back of my engine when changing the oil last night.
6 years of owning this car have been very trying. I really have been thinking about dumping it and getting something else. But, after 2 hours of thinking I have no clue what I'd get. Even if I put 30K down for a car I don't know. I want something that's fast, handles well, and is well built, with a warranty.

You're OBD I, can't you use the old paper clip trick to pull the code?
On my other car (95 Honda Civic), that's what the OBD I guys do on the other forum I post on. Check out the link for a rough idea of how it's done. OBD I should be OBD I regardless of the type of car.

Click

paper clip... already tried it. No codes. I also tried clearing the codes.
But the airbag light cannot be cleared that way. It actually has to be cleared with a VAG-COM.
