More pics from VIR (Audi Club and Trackdaze)

If you buy the photo, it's yours. I think Mike gets tweaked if you use the photos that...
... he posts here or on the web. It's a tough business and when the proprietor vigorously defends his IP rights, it can seem petty. I generally support and respect SS.

you own them once you buy them, as far as waiting, i don't mind waiting a few weeks, usually 3 to
get high quality pics....i've known mike and leslie for a long time and their photography is much better than anything i saw on that other site....if i'm going to pony up ca$h for pics, i want them to be quality pics....i don't need to take a cd home with me along with the other stuff i have, quality is where it's at pure and simple....

I wonder how they both got rights to be there. Maybe Ma & Pa got permission from VIR....
.... and SS got it via Audi Club. I'm sure SS was NOT happy to have competition there.
So what if Ma & Pa are successful and grow the business to the point that they have a million dollar setup? I can't fault SS for their success.

I'm pretty sure he never posts photos online...
at least the ones he takes at events. So if you don't check them out in the trailer, you'll never see them again, unless you buy sight unseen.
I've been told, unless he changed his policy, that even when you bought the CD, that didn't give you rights to post the photos on the internet.
I agree that photos are especially a tough business, especially since the perceived value of a picture now is a fraction of what it once was because everyone and their brother has a digital camera. One of my major areas on study in school was photography, so I can totally respect the creative aspect and property rights issues.
As I alluded to before, I was at an ACNA event and had my dSLR out with another member just taking pictures. Most of them I just give away, since I'm not the best shot in the world and they really could be better, I don't think they are worth charging for. Many of them have been used by people on here for sigs. Anyway, Ms. SS spotted myself and this other member out walking around taking shots and talked to the Event Director and requesting that we be shut down from this activity. Talking to other people on other forums from around the country, it seems he's done this many times. I just can't respect him or support his business since then.
