Default Please help with Maryland traffic citation question...

I got a speeding ticket in early July, and I still haven't heard about a court date. Does anyone have any experience with Baltimore County traffic court and how long it takes to get a trial date? I just checked with the IVR, and my citation is on file, but it didn't give me any info about a court date, just offered three ways I could pay it.

Default I got a ticket in Aug. one year and didn't get a trial until the following April.

I asked for a dismissal based on my right to receive a speedy trial. The judge agreed.

Wow! Did you have to even go to trial, or did you get it dismissed beforehand?

Default You'll get notification of a court date in the mail

Go to court - you may want to try what BLULYNR did.

Also, I've had 2 tickets in the past 2 years dismissed b/c the cops didn't show - one was a 5 point/$270 fine - w00t!

Good luck.

Default Really?

The 2 tix I've had written in MD followed up with a court date in the mail. You didn't move or anything in that time, did you?

Anyway, good thing you called....thats what I would have done, had I not received anything over a long period of time.

I moved, but also changed my address prior to receiving the ticket.
