Quick poll...Yamaha R6 or kawasaki 6R Ninja
Did some research over the weekend and based on my understandings, it seems that the R6 is more of a racer's bike because the clutch is jerky and the damper is extremely harsh and uncomfortable compared to the Kawasaki 6R..
I like the exhaust design on the Ninja where it sits right under the seats, very stealth and clean.
what do you guys think? smitty, Rob, Ed, jason...???
=)

i personally like the R6 better...
in looks. You have to sit on the bike or try to get a test ride to get make the final decision.
I really want the R6, but after i sat on it on friday...not any more. My short *** will not fit on that bike. Gixxer and 600rr are my top choices. Since i like the 600rr way better, that's what i'm gonna get if my plan goes well.

my bro will upgrade his 02' gixxer to the 06 model...
yea, i am leaning more towards to the ninja although your R6 is sexy as hell haha.
I'm not a fan of the cbr design and the gixxer cyclop eye lights. Did you take the course prior to purchasing the R6?
My plan is to take the written test first and then have my bro ride the new bike home from the dealer and then give myself few practice runs after work before going to DMV for the road test.

Honda CBR 600. Used. ;-)
This would be the best bike for you, second to a Buell blast, and as a friend, I wouldn't tell you to get a buell.
The honda has the smoothest clutch, throttle, suspension, and is very user friendly. Kawasaki will have a little crisper everything, and the yamaha is as smitty describes, more of a racer. The older ones are more comfortable, but the new ones, not. I like my '03 R1 better than the new ones, the seats are weird, hard to explain it. They feel great at 100mph+ speeds, but, that's like 1% of the time you'll be riding. Get a used honda for awhile, as a learner bike, IMO.

Kawasaki's aren't really known for their comfortable seats. Just as simply j.
I don't think any racing bike is going to have a comfortable seat. If you want a comfortable bike to ride for longs hours get a crusier or a sport touring bike, not a racing bike.
