Default Sirius radio question

1) Where is the best place to get the module?
2) Is the install easy or should I just get from dealer?

Thanks for your help.

by "module" do you mean the tuner, or an add-on control unit? I thought all new Audis came XM-ready anyway, so how come you're doing Sirius?
I bought my head unit that was Sirius-ready off eBay since a lot of retailers sell new stuff for less on there. I got my tuner and antenna from Crutchfield because they run a lot of specials on satellite equipment; got the antenna free with the tuner purchase.

I had Tweeter in Fairfax on Rte 50 install everything for a pretty reasonable cost. I woul never ever ever ever ever ever ever have a dealer touch my car, but that's just me.

Default ok well then my question is this:

if he got his car with Sirius, why would he need to buy anything? Obviously the head unit is Sirius-ready, wouldn't the tuner already be installed in the car and the shark-fin be ready to accept a satellite signal?

Well, you need to have the headunit first, but it is pre-wired from what I remember.

Default This is how I think it works

The sharkfin is installed on all models except Front Trak CVTs. The head unit is satellite radio ready. If you opt for the option, it is a dealer-installed option. The dealer installs the actual tuner module in the trunk where the nav goes. The car is pre-wired and the tuner module is all that's installed.

Default so then when he bought the car he obviously did not get the sat. option

therefore does not have a tuner already in the car, am I understanding that correctly? so that's all he needs to buy in order to get up and running.

Default The car is already PRE-WIRED but I just need the MODULE...

from either XM or SIRIUS. Since its only a simple plug/play, I'll prob just buy it at the dealer. Also, I'm scheduled for my 10K at HBL on TUES. I might as well get everyone done.
