Default Thumbs up on a periodic brake rotor "cleaning" (i.e. heat cycle). I was suffering...

... from a little "stuttering" when rolling to a stop. Nothing bad, and I almost thought it was the transmission bucking. But when it did it in neutral, I knew the brakes were getting inconsistant gripperage. Visually, the rotors had irregular black marks.

So I did the "what-the-hell-is-that-maniac-doing??" cruise around the 'hood to heat up the brakes, and came home to that lovely smell and the musical "tink - tink - tink" of hot brakes cooling down.

All's well again with excellent stopperage. I think the pads had actually glazed way back at VIR in April, and had shown less bite ever since. The stuttering was the beginning of the de-glazing. Now things are back to normal. Anyone else wonder what would have happened if I brought the car to a dealer with the complaint? New rotors, new pads... $1,000+
