Anybody know a good place in St. Louis to get your car repainted, eve into potentially socially unacceptable (at least for AudiWorld) colors? Anybody actually have it done before? Research has shown up to $4,000 just for the right materials.

Every time I've had a full car or part of a car painted by anyone other than a dealer (or whoever the subcontracted it to), the quality was horrible. A few looked good at first and then started to chip. Given that, I would be very concerned about changing the color.

Maybe a nice plaid?

Even if they use factory paint, it chips. I'm sure that Audi has some neato process for strengthening the initial paint application (even though that doesn't work all that well), and that body shops (including dealer-recommended ones) don't have the same ability.
