Melting headlight switch
I guess it's fairly common for the 84-87 4000's to have this happen. Does anyone know is there an easy fix? I'm guessing that I could put relays in line somewhere to help, but not sure where?? I have an 87 4000csq and have gone through a few switches and a couple plugs. It's fine if I don't leave the headlights on for very long at a time!! Any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem and i opted to get the euro headlight kit from blau and I havent had a problem since. I guess if you wanted to keep the stock lights just put relays on both the high and low beams
