I'm looking at an '05 suzuki sv650 naked with 19k miles. It has never been dropped and has frame sliders, gel seat, heated grips, and exhaust. What would you say a fair price to offer for this bike is?

He was asking $3500 negotiable. $3500 sounds high to me for a bike with that many miles especially when I was looking at an '04 with 1600 miles for $4k. The 'book' on this bike if $4090, but it never asks you for mileage -- so I don't understand what the book value means if mileage is taken into account!?!!

I was thinking of offering $3k -- is this reasonable? Or should I just stay away from higher mileage bikes as a beginner?

5k miles/yr is probably considered average. Deduct if more, add if less.
