<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/225/s4mods_10.1.jpg"></center><p>
given the scarcity of brake pads for the stock S4 calipers, what do you think is better on the track?

sucky pad #1) OEM pads
sucky pad #2) Porterfield R4S
sucky pad #3) Mintex Reds

Default The Porterfields would be best on that list, but...

they are kind of expensive, almost $400. You can get Kerr Friction track pads for the stock S4 caliper from Weston Motorsports (1-888-558-0631) for about $219.

Default The porterfield R4s is not a poor choice for the street...

far better than the other two. Are you sure Pagid doesn't make a pad for you? They make some stock pads (OEM Audi). BTW The R4 is the track pad.

Minex pads don't last long with drilled rotors.

there's a dearth of info on oem s4 pads. as mentioned above, porterfields are wallet draining

Give Hawk a call. They are typically pretty inexpensive.

Default porterfields are not that expensive...pads that fit stock S4 calipers ARE.

You'd be better off upgrading to stoptechs and saving yourself cash on pads and rotors in the long run.

As for porterfields being expensive...yeah, they might, but they're not as expensive as pagids. Also, are brakes really something you want to skimp on? They're kinda important.

I've watched people play the rotor/pads game with their stock S4/A4 brakes before...they end up wasting more money then if they would have just completely upgraded their brakes in the first place. Take it from me, save yourself some money in the long run and get a set of real brakes.
