News from Charlotte
I talked to Derek Bell for awhile. The Speedvision cup S4 he's driving is built by AudiSport UK (the team that built and campaigned that gorgeous LeMans coupe last year). It is 'basically' the RS4 engine. He loves the car.
The Motorola Cup S4 (forgot the driver name) is an S4 tweaked by APR with a racing fuel cell in the trunk. Got some pictures of both cars.
The Audi R8s took 1,2 in provisional qualifying. They looked very smooth compared to the BMWs. JJ Lehto had the BMW's tail way out coming into the infield from the oval, McNish and Pirro had their Audis looking very tidy, so whatever magic was done for the 2000 suspension has been applied to the 99 cars. Frank Biela liked my car, I was parked near the pitlane, he gave me an Audi hat

Re: how do i get tickets?
You drive right up to the Speedway (right off of I85 north of
Charlotte). The ticket
office opens at 8AM and there have only been about 1000 tickets sold.
They also
sell the paddock passes there. The Speedway ticket office # is
1800455FANS.
americanlemans.com and professionalsportscar.com have the schedules
posted.
I think the ALMS is racing at the Texas speedway later this year.
