Default Rally-x tires

Well, we are going to our first "Rally School" this saturday and rally-x is on Sunday. W e are planning on just running through the crappy tires that are on the "project" car, but we bought a couple extra wheels and need to select a tire for them. I did a search and people talk about using snow tires (we had thought of ms tires also) but is there any brand that is preferred? We don't want to go with hardcore tires 'cause the car is definitely not ready to be bumped up a class to where the more prepared AWD cars are

Suggestions? Thoughts?

TIA!

tire's won't help you Julie... only a miracle and those are generally free.

Default Get something

with the heaviest sidewalls you can find. Pick up the tyre, and feel how heavy it is. The heavier the better.

The problems I see most, are guys rolling the tyres off the bead, and that'll ruin you're whole day, won't it?

Yes, a heavy tyre wil affect performance, but Rally-X speeds are low enough, that it won't be what you need to worry about.

Any good M+S tyre will do. A rally tyre would be the cat's meow, but you're right, it'll bump you up a class.

Hey! Maybe you should do that, we could run in the same class maybe???

Default Always compete

against "good" competition. Pushing yourself will make you a better driver. I'm not sure if they do it in your area, but hop a ride with a rally driver, try and pick up a few techniques. If nothing else go for a fun ride!
