Default Speed WC BT: how quickly does the SCCA usually move to adjust the performance of cars?

I was at Tri-Point Engineering (they run the Mazda 6s in the touring car series) this morning and was told they got slapped with a 30% restrictor for Sebring after just one round of practice! While they were certainly the fastest in that session by a considerable margin, the other top teams were clearly sandbagging.

This is the fastest imposed adjustment I've heard of, but I haven't been THAT tuned into the paddock gossip in the past. Is it commonplace for adjustments to be handed out like this? I always figured things generally happened after the races.

Default We were surprized as well.

SCCA downloaded data acquistion from the top cars and only looked at acceleration of the platform. The SCCA said the acceleration rates were higher with the Mazda.
Based on this data SCCA acted very fast to try to equalize performance. Last year the SCCA caught a competitor lifting on a straight and levied some weight before qualifying. SCCA is trying to keep a level playing field. The race should be very exciting to watch with all the lead changes.
StopTech brakes on all three factory Mazda team cars--end of commercial.

Default Maybe they should give up on trusting the teams and just test the cars independently.

Of course, then you end up with a post-race NASCAR-like enforcement process. So nevermind.
