Default Suspension mods and still stock SCCA cat?

Can I mod the suspension of a car, like just shocks and
springs, and still stay in the Stock category? The rules
seem a little unclear. Or maybe it's just me

Default Clear as a bell (for stock...)...

Shock only, alignment, and cat back. Get hydraulic adj. Konis, factory pkg. sport springs, a race alignment, cat back, and rear R tires.

I wonder why you can use different shocks, non oe, but have to use oe springs.

?

Unfortunately, I don't think there was a sport package for a
4000Q

Was there?

Thanks forthe info.

Default Shocks wear out.

You'll notice that most of the stock modifications are for items that wear out and quite possibly can't be replaced with stock items for older cars.

Brake pads, shocks, etc.

Default Erik, you forgot

Front swaybar is free also (add, remove, replace), and so is stock style air filter element (go to K&N style).

Default True...

But with a car that understeers the bigger front bar is more of a detriment. The airfilter is an incremental benefit, better to use that cash for entry fees...

Generally, what you say about the bigger front bar causing understeer is correct. However, if you're hiking your inside rear tire anyway the bigger front bar can help in that it will keep the car flatter and the tires more perpendicular to the road improving front end traction. At least it worked on my brother's Honda Accord 20 years ago.
