What does everyone do in regards to TPMS sensors if you have an extra set of wheels and tires for AutoX/HPDE duty? My previous car (BMW) used the difference in rotation to sense a low tire so it wouldn't have been an issue. Buy them at $55/per (tirerack)? I've read on the wheel/tire forum that it takes them 60 miles to initialize.

I guess it depends how your car reacts when it senses that sensor is 'gone'
I just left my 2nd set of wheels sensor-less. when I have my racing tires on, the RX8 just flashes a small warninglight on the dash. doesn't do anything to the operation of the car.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone with a late model Audi do the same?
I'm assuming that's all I'll get as well is a lit up warning light while the wheels are on. Ugh, more reading of the owner's manual. I wish people could be just trusted to check the pressure in their tires.

Not on the track, but...
I don't track an Audi anymore, but I do have winter wheels that don't have TPMS sensors.
If the wheels don't have sensors, after a while you'll get a yellow warning indicator on the center LCD display.
You can disable the TPMS with VAG-COM if that bothers you. There's directions in the VAG-COM forum.
