Alarm problem again...seems to happen when it rains/snows...
So i thought it had fixed itself...apparently not, alarm is again going off on my car no matter what I do...where might I check first? Maybe a ground wire is exposed somewhere?

My guess is a short in the system somewhere....
Is there a seperate fuse for the alarm? If so, pull it. I can stop by today on my way home (as long as it is not a blizzard out there. Let me know.

Thanks Henry....
I am searching, but can't seem to find anything regarding an alarm fuse...I would love to use the vag today, but i will be leaving work early due to all this snow...not that quattro can't handle it, it's more that other people can't and i don't want to deal with the headache of driving with morons on the road...but thank you again for the offer...for the moment i am just leaving the car unlocked and when i get time running out and checking the fuses real quick, but i'm busy here at work and don't have much time to do that...i'll have to check around when i get home because i definitely don't want to leave the car unlocked in brighton
I will update later...
Thanks again

i have the same prob in my car.. only way without arming and locking is climb in from the rear...
and locking it with the switch then just climb back out the rear door and close it.. not sure if front passenger side will work.. but locking with key will arm the alarm

My alarm used to randomly go off...
I brought the a4 in to the shop because my alarm would go off for no reason a while ago. there was something off about the door jam sensors, it was fixed and its been fine ever since.

Re: Is it true that locking the car from the passenger door doesn't activate alarm?...
On an A4?
I can check on a garage queen 99, but I though most newer Audis only had one key cylinder because of the RKE (or cost cutting - your call)
FWIW: When the drivers door micro switch broke in the 200 20V the drivers door doesn't deactivate the alarm if the pass door is locked to arm the system.
