Appealed a speeding ticket and finally had the hearing today: Cop didn't show!

I had that happen once
He didn't show because he had been fired.
In fact, there wasn't enough space in the magistrate's office for all of the people who had contested his tickets.

For the record, this was my appeal of the first court hearing. They initially offered to reduce fine
Of course this would mean a moving violation would remain on my record. I don't have any moving violations on my record since January of 2003 when I was pulled over in NH in my mother's 1997 A8.
I paid $20 to appeal and have a second court date, where the cop is required to show, from what I understand.

No no, it is over..
Meaning I was found not guilty because the police officer didn't show up for the court hearing.
This was my second court hearing. At the first one I appealed the magistrates decision(to reduce fine) and today stood in front of the judge.
lesson learned, try not to get caught when you speed, and when you are caught--- always appeal.

Agreed, same result for me near rt 190/ rt 2
Some District Court directly on a reservoir, maybe Lancaster area. Initial/preliminary hearing was useless, paid the $20 and saw the Judge who called me up early on the docket. My trooper didn't show, hopefully because it was a sunny Monday in late July hehe
I also was uber-polite to the ticketing officer, thanking him for his public service and pulling over right when I got hit with the instant-on KA band in the outside lane- somewhat due to being the rabbit at that interval of my roadtrip
