Temporary Tag Advice
I bought a A4 from VA private seller.I am resident of MA and I would like to drive my car from VA to MA.
Are there any title tag companies in MA someone can recommend, that can provide me with a temporary tag via mail so that I can drive my car from VA to MA??Thanks in advance.

I just posted something like this a few threads down...
haha. You may be able to get temp plates in VA from that dealer.
I think once you buy it you should be able to drive it as long as you have a license. Too many rules man!

you need to get the title, register in MA, get your insurance set-up,
and then they'll give you plates at the RMV.
Have the title Fed-Exed to you and you can get the process done in a day.

Once you get the RMV- 1 form from the Ins Co you can bring it down to the RMV...
to get it registered. I think you might neeed to bring the bill of sale also.
If you drive it back with old plates yiu can run the risk of getting into trouble. I am waiting to get the car registered first just to be safe and my car is only in RI.

find a friend who is a car dealer - borrow dealer plate is easiest
otherwise the right way to do it is like grapeking mentioned.
or if the car has a tag from previous owner, work something out so you can drive back on his plates.
OR the illegal route is just throw any ol' tag on there, odds are you won't run into any problems.
random sidenote: i drove a newly bought car from georgia to NY with no tags at all ... the seller i bought it from in GA said he got temp tags for it ... turned out the temp tag was a piece of paper saying "temp tag" (which is allowed in GA?!) ... i got home no problems, and no hassles from cops, thank god
