I have a 2007 A6 Quattro, the MMI board was bad and the screen was scrambled. I replaced the MMI board and I now have AM/FM/CD but the screen is still scrambled (orange, white and blue lines) and I cannot adjust the other car features through the MMI. Can this be a programming issue? If I have the new board programmed to the car does anyone think the MMI screen will go back to working?

I am having the same issue on my 06 A6. I heard of pinched wires etc. I took out the MMI screen and the MMI Multimedia Interface Control Unit(4E0035729) which is under the dash. I pulled all the wires and optics and re installed. I rebooted the MMI and I still have the lines on the screen.


I don't know how to test the MMI screen or even the MMI Multimedia Interface Control Unit.

I have been loooking but can't really find an answer. I was thinking of just hitting ebay to get a new MMI screen. I know this isn't what you were looking for but I found used ones for about $80.

Watching this thread to see if there is a way to understand which unit is the bad unit.
