Could my paint code be a custom color. I entered my VIN and it shows a paint code of 8N8N but my trunk sticker shows a paint code of LZ6H. It is a beautiful dark forest green and I plan on having it repainted the same color. The clear coat is worn off in most places and it is now affecting the paint.

Those two codes are interchangeable for Racing Green.

Dear Diane don’t be fooled by the color the color on your vin is for the outer body and the one inside your trunk is the base color that they used on the inside of your car body as a primer sealer so your car doesn’t rust I have restored several classic Audi’s with the same so please dear listen to a Audi tech who has been doing this for yrs now
